A postgraduate of Commerce and Management, Alok completed his colleging from Mumbai and pursued post graduate management from the United Kingdom. In establishing and starting Shykam, Alok has remained extremely active on the domestic and international cotton networks and has rekindled and bettered trade relations with all sections of the cotton economy through his travels within India & abroad.
A graduate of commerce, Mr. Makharia has had the good fortune of being part of the great cotton trade for several decades and making lasting friendships from the cotton trade. He has actively been serving all sections of the cotton community including traders, mills, international merchants, exporters, ginners, brokers in executive capacities including Vice President & Director of the prestigious Cotton Association of India (CAI) and the 98 year old esteemed Bombay Cotton Merchants & Muccadams Association, of which he is the present president.
